Day 1                                          Beagle Bay, Pearl Farm, Giant Tides                                      Cygnet Bay or Kooljaman (L)

Departing Broome after breakfast, we journey up the spectacular Dampier Peninsula, also known as ‘Dampier Land’. Largely Aboriginal-owned land, the Dampier is a delight for travellers seeking a Kimberley experience that is culturally rewarding in a beautiful environment. Travelling up the red ‘pindan’ 4WD track, we hear about the peninsula’s fascinating place in Australia’s history from our guided commentary. Our first stop is the Beagle Bay Aboriginal Community, home of the Beagle Bay Church and its glimmering pearl shell altar, where we enjoy morning tea. Arriving at beautiful Cygnet Bay we join a fascinating Pearl Farm Tour where we learn about the world’s largest and most beautiful pearls that have been farmed in these pristine waters for generations by the family owned business. After enjoying a delicious lunch we embark on what
will undoubtedly be a highlight of your Kimberley adventure – the thrilling Giant Tides Boat Tour through the pituresque Bucannear Archipelago. Over 2 hours we feel the rush as we take an exhilarating ride over the world’s largest tropical tides and our skipper shares their local knowledge of the natural beauty of the Kimberley coastline.

Day 2                                  Aquaculture Hatchery, Lombadina                                                                                             (L)

After a relaxed morning we travel to the remote One Arm Point Community, the perfect place to view the spectacular Buccaneer Archipelago and witness the huge tidal flows of the Kimberley we visit the Community’s aquaculture hatchery, complete with reef fish and trochus shell. Our journey back along the Cape Leveque Road brings us to the laid back community of Lombadina Community and the ocean has been pivotal to their lives for thousands of years and evidence of their heritage can be found in the traditional artworks and pearl shell designs that are exhibited in their small museum.
We take a stroll around their community, perhaps partaking of their fresh bakery produce that comes hot from the oven prior to departing for the drive back to Broome. Departing Lombadina we arrive back in Broome late this afternoon
